Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026

This policy applies to the StatusLab app for iOS provided by Nicechann Studio.

1. General principles

StatusLab does not require a Nicechann Studio account. Nicechann Studio does not collect diagnostic results, contact information, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics through the app.

2. Data stored on your device

StatusLab may store the following information locally to provide its features:

  • Current status snapshots such as battery, storage, network path, and thermal state
  • Diagnostic sessions, item-level results, dates, purposes, and user-selected outcomes
  • App preferences, widget choices, reminder settings, and Pro access state

Completed diagnostic sessions are stored locally up to the app’s configured limit. You can remove StatusLab data with the reset option in the app or by deleting the app.

3. App Group and widgets

StatusLab shares a limited status snapshot and settings with its widget extension through Apple’s App Group container on your device. This is used only to display StatusLab widgets and is not sent to a Nicechann Studio account server.

4. Camera, microphone, and motion permissions

  • Camera: used to show camera previews and test available lenses and the flash. StatusLab does not save or upload photos or video.
  • Microphone: used for a short recording that you play back to check the microphone and speaker. The recording is stored temporarily on the device and deleted when the test ends.
  • Motion: used while the motion test is open to show accelerometer, gyroscope, and orientation responses. Raw motion samples are not uploaded.

You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

5. Optional internet response test

When you explicitly start the internet response test, StatusLab sends a small HTTPS request to a Nicechann Studio-controlled page hosted on GitHub Pages. The request is used only to determine whether an external HTTPS endpoint responds and to measure response time.

As with ordinary web connections, the hosting provider may process standard connection information such as an IP address, request time, and technical request metadata under its own privacy terms. StatusLab does not attach your diagnostic history, contact information, serial number, or IMEI to this request.

6. Reports and sharing

Summary images and PDF reports are generated on your device. They may include the device model, iOS version, diagnostic date, score, completion rate, and item-level results. They do not include the temporary microphone recording, serial number, or IMEI. A report leaves the app only when you choose to share or save it through the iOS share sheet.

7. Notifications

Diagnostic reminders and storage warnings use local notifications scheduled on your device. StatusLab does not operate a remote push-notification server. Storage is evaluated when the app refreshes its status; the app does not continuously monitor storage while closed.

8. In-app purchases

StatusLab Pro is a non-consumable purchase processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Nicechann Studio does not directly collect or store your payment-card or payment-method information.

9. Tracking, advertising, and analytics

StatusLab does not include third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs and does not request Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency permission.

10. Children’s privacy

StatusLab is a general device utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Security

StatusLab uses Apple platform protections such as the app sandbox, App Group access controls, system permission controls, and StoreKit verification. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when app features, applicable requirements, or external services change. The effective date on this page will be updated when material changes are made.
