Privacy Policy
Your journal stays yours.
NoteGarden is a personal daily journal for writing entries, adding selected photos, tracking moods, and revisiting memories. NoteGarden does not collect your journal content or use advertising or tracking SDKs.
1. Data Stored on Your Device
Your entries, selected photos, tags, moods, favorites, app settings, and Trash information are stored in NoteGarden’s app storage on your device. NoteGarden does not require a Nicechann account and does not upload your journal content to a developer-operated server.
2. iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud Sync, NoteGarden stores the data required for sync — including journal records and original photos — in your private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. This allows your data to sync across devices signed in to your Apple ID. The developer does not operate a separate server for this content.
You can turn iCloud Sync off from NoteGarden Settings. Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy practices apply to data stored in iCloud.
3. Photos
NoteGarden uses Apple’s system photo picker so you can choose specific photos to add to an entry. Only the photos you select are imported into NoteGarden. The app does not require broad access to browse your entire photo library for this feature.
4. Backup & Restore
NoteGarden can export your journal data and original photos into a backup file and import a backup file that you choose. Export and import are performed on your device. You decide where an exported backup is saved or shared, such as Files, AirDrop, email, or another destination available in the system share sheet.
5. App Lock
If you enable App Lock, NoteGarden can use Apple’s Local Authentication framework (for example Face ID or Touch ID) or a NoteGarden PIN, depending on your device and settings. NoteGarden does not receive or store your biometric data. The NoteGarden PIN is stored securely on your device and is not collected by Nicechann Studio.
6. Notifications
If you allow notifications, NoteGarden uses them only for optional journaling and backup reminders. These reminders are scheduled for the functionality you choose in the app.
7. Purchases
NoteGarden is free to download and offers an optional one-time NoteGarden Pro in-app purchase. Payment and purchase verification are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. NoteGarden does not receive your payment card information.
8. Analytics, Ads, and Tracking
NoteGarden does not include third-party advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking, and does not sell your personal information.
9. Sharing
If you use an Apple system share sheet to share an entry, a photo, or a backup file, the selected information is handled by the destination app or service you choose. Their privacy practices may apply after you share the content.
10. Deletion and Trash
Deleted journal entries can remain in NoteGarden’s Trash for up to 30 days so they can be restored, unless they are permanently removed earlier. If iCloud Sync is enabled, journal changes may also sync across your devices.
11. Children’s Privacy
NoteGarden is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not operate an account system or developer analytics service that collects journal content.
12. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when NoteGarden’s functionality or data handling changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are made.
